Opportunity:
An Anchorage, AK based client faced an
Information Reporting and Design issue involving the need
for a real time and flexible cash flow forecasting and
analysis solution which could capably support critical funding
decisions. Our client had a general understanding of the
capability provided by their integrated ERP system but did not
have the time nor the software vendor support to validate
whether that functionality could support the client's
requirements. Based on our history of successful projects with
the client, Agilence LLC
was asked to provide
solution alternatives. |
Our Response:
Starting with a rapid
Solution Requirement Definition, Agilence performed a
Requirements Fit Analysis of the cash forecasting
functionality provided in the existing ERP platform.
Supported by the results from execution of a structured test
plan to validate delivered functionality and in
close contact with the vendor, it was determined
that the existing functionality had significant logic
flaws as well as major gaps in supporting the cash
forecasting process. As an alternative, Agilence proposed
a solution using key elements and data from the
validated platform functionality, supplemented with data
from sources external to the platform and tailored
capability developed in Visual Basic, using MS Excel
as the solution's user interface and front end. |
Outcome:
The proposed solution
was accepted and developed and leverages the
client's existing technology, minimize
additional investment, and will create the
Perfect
Loop® between the client's cash forecasting process,
their information needs, and their available technology.
